Noisy week, silent weekend?

Holiday finished, parents who came to visit me and at the same time presentation for the project and a exam to do. Well it was a busy week but it all turned out fine at last... The weekend we had our second house party and this time we kept it silent because of the complains and threats of the other time(s). I went skiing (and après-skiing) for the last time I think, but you never know... The movie is from the Cully Jazz Festival, a very cousy festival in a small village next to the lake of Geneva.

Belgium for Easter!

Well the title isn't exactly true but who cares... Belgium came to visit me here for the Easter holiday. First my dear friends Gert, Nick and Charlotte came and some days later my parents. Coincidence is that and the brother Michel and the sister Caroline were (are) also studying in Lausanne. So the family (Nick) Bila was well represented! I had a great time and it's clear that your old country and friends you will never forget! Thanks!

Skiing in Switzerland!

Yes, finally I went skiing some times in Switzerland! The first semester I didn't go any time, the second semester I started well... The Rail&Ski of the Swiss Railways works really good and a one day ski trip is no problem here! Still didn't break anything, touch wood!

Basque country to study?!

Hehe, I went back to Spain, my second beloved country... This time for the university! The project of the Spring semester is about a region in the Basque Country. The working site is from San Sebastian to Biarritz, 'Eurocity' and it's part of not only Spain but also France. That means a lot of fun and jokes about/with the French people. We also passed Bilbao so I visited the family over there and because it was cheaper to fly over to Madrid and afterwards rent a bus to San Sebastian, I stayed some extra days in Madrid to see also the family there. So for me it was more a family visit finally than a school trip. I didn't complain...

Maroc (+Milan)

Hello again, after some time I started writing back on the blog! I have to dig deep to to get my memories back of that wonderful trip we had in Morocco. Strange because only good memories about it. Before we (me and the other Belgian guy in the stories) took the train to Milan because we had to take our flight there. Well, all the time raining and very cold, it was not my best Italian experience... With wet feet we arrived in that warm country where also the others from our university in Belgium were waiting. The feet dried soon and it was really good to see the others again!
In those 10 days we spent in that country we saw a lot. A lot of beautiful things but of course also less beautiful things... Casablanca wasn't really a succes, the only beautiful thing was the mosque but if you know the history behind the budget, it shines a little bit less. The South of Morocco was a big succes with of course Marrakech and the tour South to it. The largest square of Africa, Djemaa el Fna, is the attraction for tourists and maybe too touristic. The tour was well organised with 3 stars hotels! What a luxuary for students... The night and trip in the Sahara is also worth mentioning!
